We feel it is important for people to have a fun, safe, supportive environment to enjoy each others’ company while watching, performing, and learning improv.

About Improv In Paradise

Improv in Paradise is a 501(c)3 non-profit company created to promote teaching Improvisation, the Art of Unscripted Theater. Founded by members of Think Fast Improv, Improv in Paradise focuses on creating educational opportunities for children and adults of all levels of experience and improving our community by assisting other non-profit groups!

Due to COVID-19, Improv in Paradise has put a temporary pause on our weekly in-person improv drop-in classes for the safety of the community, students, and instructors. We are working on having our instructors receive their vaccinations and are developing safety protocols for when we can all play together again.

We hope to bring our classes back in May 2021 at the new Downstage HNL on 1128 Smith Street

Be sure to follow us to stay updated for when we announce our classes, workshops, and events!

About our classes:

Improv in Paradise hosts Drop-In Classes on Tuesdays for the general public and the acting community. Students will explore warm-ups, exercises, scene work, improv fundamentals and theory. Themes covered in each class include

  • Communication
  • Storytelling
  • Character development
  • Teamwork
  • Listening
  • Being in the moment

Students will also receive notes reflective on their performance and experience level. As a student of the Improv in Paradise program, Think Fast Improv shows are free!  We believe in exposing as many opportunities for our students to learn from veteran improvisers while playing with the most crucial member of the team: the audience! Plus, students will get to know the members of the improv community on and off the stage.
